Bedtime Packrat

Ava's a little bedtime packrat. We tuck her in bed at night and she'll usually have her pink corduroy cat and maybe a book. She sleeps with her door open and we pass by her room to get to our room. We've seen her get out of bed, pick up another book, then back into bed and under the covers. It's not a problem. So, when we check in on her as we pass by to bed, we will see her asleep with the extra book.

Three nights ago, she had about 9 books in bed with her. They surrounded her and were underneath her and she was asleep with an arm around a book. It was hilarious. Last night, we found Ava fast asleep, cuddling with a battery-operated string of Christmas lights (it's a short string with no more than 10 tiny bulbs on it) that we gave her, with her face, arms, and torso lit up . We'd left it lit on her window sill and it ended up in bed with her. No worries, it wasn't entwined around her neck and we extracted the string of lights from her without disturbing her.

There have been other times when I go into her room in the mornings and pull back her covers to see blocks, puzzles or just puzzle pieces, her entire tea cup set, balloons, etc underneath.

It's really funny.
